Scalp Micropigmentation for SCARRING
Scalp scarring is usually caused by injury or surgery, most commonly hair transplant scars. There are 2 types of transplant:
Follicular unit transplantation (FUT) – This is where a thin strip of skin with hair is removed from the back of your head and divided into pieces, each containing 1 to 4 hairs called hair grafts, the grafts are placed into tiny cuts made in the scalp. The site where the hairs are taken is closed with stitches and you will l have a scar on the back of your head.
Follicular unit extraction (FUE) – For this the back of the head is shaved and individual hairs are removed 1 by 1 making individual grafts which are then placed into tiny cuts made in the scalp, creating lots of tiny scars in the donor area.
HOW CAN SMP HELP?
Scalp micropigmentation for scarring takes a high level of expertise and knowledge to make the scar practically invisible. By using scalp micropigmentation we can blend replicated hair follicles in and around the scar with the natural hair follicles. This will almost completely conceal the scar. Scalp micropigmentation is the only way to disguise scalp scarring properly and the procedure can also restore some health to the scar tissue by softening the injured skin.
